Darkened kerbstone with inscribed text showing lighter, partially sunk in the grass and with evidence of possible iron fencing or other addition now missing. Further non-war memorial text on two other kerbstones around the plot which also have evidence of something metal removed. Commemorates one WW1 soldier on his grandparents' grave plot.

Kerbstone head of grave: In Loving Memory of / GEORGE PEEL, BUTCHER OF THIS TOWN / THE BELOVED HUSBAND OF HANNAH PEEL/ WHO DIED OCTR 27TH 1903 AGED 49 YEARS Kerbstone: ALSO THE AFOREMENTIONED HANNAH PEEL / WHO DIED NOVEMBER 25TH 1923 Kerbstone to side: ALSO GEORGE SMITH, THE DEARLY LOVED GRANDSON OF THE AFOREMENTIONED / WHO WAS ACCIDENTALLY KILLED IN FRANCE AND INTERRED AT / VIGNACOURT CEMETERY AUGUST 15TH 1918, AGED 18 YEARS.
