Description: Wall mounted, apex-headed, portrait oriented grey marble backboard supporting a shield-shaped stone tablet. At the top of the shield tablet are crossed swords amongst a foliate laurel and ivy leaf raised design. At the base of the shield tablet is a raised crest and motto. Between the two designs are the incised inscription and names. Text infilled with black paint. At the apex of the baseboard is a raised N. Staffs. Regimental crest design comprising a plume of feathers and the Staffordshire Knot.
Inscription: TO THE DEAR / AND HONOURED MEMORY OF / HAROLD BUCHANAN RYLEY, / 2ND. LIEUT. NORTH STAFFS REGIMENT, WHO WAS / KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE ON 7TH. SEPT. 1916, AGED 20. / ALSO OF HIS BROTHER, / DONALD ARTHUR GEORGE BUCHANAN RYLEY. / 2ND LIEUT IN THE SAME REGIMENT, WHO WAS / KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE ON 11TH. FEBY. 1917, AGED 23. / ONLY SONS OF / LIEUT. HAROLD BUCHANAN RYLEY, / OF THE SUFFOLK REGIMENT, WHO WAS / KILLED IN ACTION ON 15TH. DECR. 1917. / "Faithful unto Death". / FIDELITER
