    • Yorkshire Post and Leeds Intelligencer - Thursday 25 April 1929 MASHAM ROLL OF HONOUR. Lady Cunliffe-Lister at Unveiling Ceremony. An oak tablet in the entrance hall of Town Hall, which bears teo names of all the men of Masham who served during the war, was unveiled on Tuesday night by Lady Cunliffe-Lister. Mr. R. Imeson, chairman of the Urban Council, said the tablet had been erected through a promise of the second Lord Masham. The third Lord left a sum of money towards defraying the cost, and this had been augmented by the Hon. Ann Cunliffe-Lister. The tablet was not a memorial, but a roll of honour. Lady Cunliffe-Lister reminded those present that it was St. George's Day. They all hoped there would be no more wars, yet she hoped, if was once necessary, the others left behind would be ready to follow the example of the men whose names were there in perpetuity. Captain Theakston proposed a vote thanks to Lady Cunlifie-Lister, and Major Sir R. L. Bower also addressed the com-pany. which included members of the Mashamdale branch of the British Legion.
