    Description
Laxey's first War Memorial, erected in 1958 to commemorate the fallen in WW1 and WW2 - not the same as those in Lonan Parish Church. Rough stone wall with a spring half way up the 17 feet high wall in the centre. The water runs over two decorative steps and appears to be floodlit. Inscription on the wall around a pool below this. To the left are three tablets, gold letters on red polished stone - left WW1 names, centre dedications, on the right WW2 names. 17 feet high Cross of reinforced concrete coated with mica from Foxdale above the tablets. There is a protruding dias on the wall with a St John type cross design on it, this is intended for the British Legion standard bearer. Plaque on brick wall around the garden area.
