    Battlefield marker, in the shape of the Star of David, with 3 original GRU tags. There is a hand-written display card beside it.
    Inscription
    GRU tags on the marker: Captain E C Simon/ 5th Lancashire Fusiliers/ 17th August 1915 On the display card: Object Name/ World War One/ Grave Marker/ This was a temporary grave/ marker for Captain Eric Conrad/ Simon in August 1915. He died/ of his wounds in France during World/ War One when he was 28 years old./ He left behind his wife and two sons./ The marker is shaped as a Star of David/ or Magen David, a symbol of Judaism.
