    Description
    Celtic cross of sacrifice on tall square pillar, which is on a square plinth and two step base. This is on a raised dais which os reached by 6 steps from the street. The WW2 names are on 2 tablets on the wall behind the cross There is a sword on the front face of the pillar, and shields on each face of the capital: South: Lion Rampant West: Thistle North: Saltire ( St Andrew's Cross) East: St George and the Dragon The names commemorated include Lieutenant Colonel W H Anderson VC

    On Face 1 of the Plinth-TO THE / GLORIOUS / MEMORY OF / THE MEN / OF LARGO / PARISH / WHO FELL / IN THE / GREAT WAR Faces 2-4 of the Plinth- [names] Top Step -THEIR NAME / LIVETH / FOR / EVERMORE Two Wall Tablets - [WW2 names, without any dedicatory wording) Brass Plaque - In memory of Major General Stanislaw Sosabowski/the 1st Independent Parachute Brigade/headquartered in Largo House/, and/the Polish soldiers assigned to defend Fife/during the Second World War who/all fought as part of the British forces.
