    Helmeted highland soldier standing at ease on a pedestal of whinstone blocks. three crests of the Seaforths, Gordons and Admiralty. SOUTH OF THE FIGURE IS A DOUBLE AVENUE OF TREES.

    • Dundee Courier - Thursday 18 October 1923 Forres Town Council have accepted the offer of Mrs Naismith, wife of the Dardanelles V.C., and her brother, Commander Dunbar Rivers, to present the pillars and gates for the family mansion-house at Glen of Rothes for erection at the entrance to Forres War Memorial. (Note that a Contemporary Image on the 'warmemscot' reference does not show these, so it appears this offer was not proceeded with)
