    • Yorkshire Post and Leeds Intelligencer: 1) On 1/11/1923 (page 11) announced the forthcoming presentation ceremony that was to be held the following day. It mentioned that the bed/plaque would be placed in Ward 21 of Leeds General Infirmary. 2) On 3/11/1923 (page 8) reported the ceremony that had taken place the previous day in the Victoria Hall of Leeds Town Hall, during which the cheque for £1000 to endow a hospital bed was presented to the Chairman of the Board of Leeds General Infirmary, together with the brass plaque that was to be attached to the bedhead. The report mentioned that 277 members of Leeds City Police had served in the Army or Navy during the War, and that the endowment of the bed was the way in which that Police force had chosen to perpetuate the memory of their 29 former colleagues who had consequently died in that War.
    • Hull Daily Mail 3/11/1923 (page 3) likewise reported the ceremony that took place at Leeds Town Hall, mentioning that all bar three of the surviving enlistees had rejoined Leeds City Police since the end of the War.
