Description: Model of The Nelson Monument (Nelson's Column), Trafalgar Square made from a combination of metal and wood. Fluted column with Corinthian capital surmounted by a statue of Nelson. Column sits on stepped plinth with a depiction of Nelson's famous naval victories on each side. One outward facing lion positioned at each corner. Plaque attached to plinth with incised inscription. Model is housed in a wooden display case with three glass panels.
Inscription: Purchased by the Wardroom Mess/ HMS EXCELLENT/ to Commemorate the/ 200th Anniversary/ of the Battle of Trafalgar/ 21st. October 1805
