    Description
    Glazed oak display case containing a blue, cloth-bound Book of Remembrance with gold titling carrying the printed names, with details of rank, unit, date of death, and age, of all those commemorated on the new War Memorial in the town (WMR 97206). There is a small laminate plastic plaque recording its donation on the lid of the case. A similar Book is also on display in the Parish Church, St Decuman's.
    Inscription
    On Book cover: Watchet/ Remembrance/ Project Group Forward to the Book: Over the years since the end of the two world wars the town has sort (sic) permanent recognition of the sacrifice their loved ones made when they went to war to fight for, and defend the freedom that we enjoy today and for many years to come./ To compliment (sic) the Memorial that was built and unveiled on the 28th June 2014 the Watchet Remembrance Project Group believed that there should also be a book of Remembrance that could be placed in the church for relatives, friends and visitors to view and spend a few moments of quiet reflection, remembrance, and quiet contemplation./ When you reflect, remember that most of those mentioned were young men who saw it as their duty to go and fight for what they believed was right. May they rest in peace knowing that they are not forgotten by the people of Watchet./ We will remember them./ Major (read.) Robert McDonald. Chairman WRPG./ At the end of the names is printed 'The Exhortation' (They shall grow not old...) and the 'Kohimar Epitaph' (When you go home, tell them of us...') On the display case lid: Presented by the/ Watchet Remembrance Group Project/ 12th November 2017/ "We will remember them" / (Names).
