    • Cambridge Daily News Friday 1/11/1918 reported: 'SAFFRON WALDEN. LIEUT. A. J. WYATT.—-Mr. and Mrs. A. Wyatt, of the Duke of York Inn. High-street, Saffron Walden, on Tuesday received information that their eldest son, Lieut, Alfred John Wyatt. Cameronian Scottish Rifles, had been killed in action in France. He was 32 years of age, and joined the Army in April, 1907. He was an old boy of the Saffron Walden British School. On entering the Army he made rapid progress in the ranks. For some time he was an Army acting schoolmaster in Scotland, and during the more recent part of his time he was assistant adjutant. He was wounded in the Battle of Loos in 1915, and upon recovery was sent to Egypt, where he fell a victim to dysentery and colic, and was invalided home. He was called to France three weeks ago, after having leave. He leaves a widow and a five months’ old child, who are now in London. Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt’s youngest son, Corpl. Herbert Wyatt, M.G.C., is now in Mesopotamia, where he has been for nearly a year. https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000758/19181101/052/0004
