Description: Grey slate tablet with the badge of the Chindits carved below the dedication. It is attached to the front wall of an electricity sub-station sited near where the Regiment's Harington Barracks Guard Room stood. The Barracks were replaced by a housing estate in the 1960s.
Inscription: 13th Kings Regt were stationed here, before moving to/ India in 1942 They marched into Burma in 1943, with/ Burmese, Gurkha and British Units supported by RAF./ 1st Kings Regt were flown into Burma in 1944, with Indian,/ Nigerian, Gurkha & British Units supported by/ RAF & USAAF/ The Chindits/ Myanmar (Burma)/ MCMXLIII MCMXLIV/ The boldest measures are the best.
